Executive Director

Mrs. Shailja Thapar-Sondhi

FFA - FIPA - FAIA

Shailja Thapar-Sondhi, is a dynamic, articulate, and successful, London-based professional who runs her own accounting firm. She has a multi-faceted outlook with her diverse background in accounting, computers, Indian law, and general business acumen. She is the translator’s younger granddaughter and the Editor’s younger sister.

To carry on the family legacy, in 2017 she established the Devi Dayal Dhody Charitable Trust (DDDCT) India and subsequently in 2023 the Devi Dayal Dhody Community Interest Company (UK), with its mission to uphold the Vedic heritage, through the dissemination of Vedic knowledge through book publications, talks, and other means.  She looks after the administrative, financial, and business aspects—providing logistic support for all the Trust’s activities, the republication work of Shrī Rāma-Charita-Mānasa translation being paramount at present.

Besides her own accounting firm, Shailja also looks after family Orchards & Farms in Bharat and makes several trips back to the homeland each year progressing & developing these further. Alongside that she engages in philanthropic works – particularly the education of young girls, which is dear to her heart. She strongly believes that both education & employment are the two key driving forces for the upliftment of society as a whole.

With her can-do, positive, and solution-orientated attitude, she provides insights and guidance into the aesthetics and viability of the ventures undertaken by the Trust.
